The Updates from the SSI Compendium Podcast Series is a three-part series that addresses the major updates and recommendations included in the SHEA Compendium of Strategies for SSI Prevention. Throughout this series, speakers will discuss the implications of beta-lactam allergy labels and the importance of de-labeling prior to surgery, as well as implementation hurdles to preventing SSIs in the post-operative period and the importance of standardized checklists and maintaining homeostasis in the reduction of SSI across health systems.
