Elements Needed to Create Effective IPC Programs

Description
This webinar will review the impact of interprofessional IPC work in healthcare facilities, including HAI reduction, improving clinical operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving financial and reputational metrics. Presenters will focus on the collaborative roles of infection preventionist, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, recommended staffing levels, required expertise, and how to effectively structure IPC programs to ensure a team-based approach to infection prevention.
Target Audience
Infection preventionists and healthcare epidemiologists currently serving in leadership roles or interested in growing into leadership roles.
Learning Objectives
Learners will be able to do the following after attending this activity:
- Recognize current major areas of impact of IPC work.
- Identify necessary staffing levels and interdisciplinary expertise needed for effective IPC implementation.
- Explain how to structure effective IPC programs that fosters interprofessional collaboration.
