Description 

This webinar will be composed of a series of lightening talks to help learners understand important concepts and skills needed to build a business case for a well-resourced IPC program. These involve understanding the financial and reputational impact of the work, reviewing what metrics are important for this discussion, how to argue for fair compensation that reflects the value of IPC work, and how to communicate all this effectively to healthcare executives.

Target Audience

Infection preventionists and healthcare epidemiologists currently serving in leadership roles or interested in growing into leadership roles.

Learners will be able to do the following after attending this activity:
 
  1. Review quality payment programs and rating systems as they relate to IPC work.
  2. Identify important metrics to include in a business case to justify resources needed for IPC work.
  3. Apply effective communication skills to convey value of their work and convince hospitals to support it.
