Converse & Convene is a virtual networking forum moderated by SHEA member experts who will lead and facilitate discussion and collaboration. Participants will be able to share challenges, lessons learned, and gain greater insight not only with their breakout groups but with a larger group discussion directly following and lead by the moderators.

 

We will begin with an introduction of the topic before moving into breakout rooms. The conversation will focus on the following questions, but please feel free to bring your own questions, ideas, and stories. 

 

1. What is an appropriate state of facility preparedness for emerging pathogens such as Avian Flu, Marburg, and Clade 1 Mpox?

a. What are facilities doing right now to prepare for potential cases and how should those actions be adapted for smaller/community facilities?

2. What lessons from the COVID pandemic need to be considered in preparing for future pandemics?

3. What challenges exist given lingering disruptions, uncertainty, demands, pandemic/emergency fatigue, and burnout from COVID?

4. How can facilities prepare for potential outbreaks while addressing those challenges?
