Converse & Convene: MICs/CLSIs
Converse & Convene: MICs/CLSIs
We will start with a group discussion, and then move into breakout rooms. The conversation will get started with these questions, but please feel free to bring your own questions, ideas, and stories.
- What are some barriers that you are facing in starting or working through breakpoint updates based on the CAP recommendations that will become effective January 1, 2024?
- How are you prioritizing which drugs to spend time updating, knowing that some will need verification (FDA on-label use) and some will need validation (FDA off-label use)?
- What educational resources are you using to aid personnel in understanding and learning about breakpoints, the importance of using updated breakpoints, and how to efficiently update them on a yearly basis?
- For labs and facilities that do not use the CAP checklist as the lab accrediting body, what plans do you have for verifying and/or validating breakpoints with the FDA's acknowledgement of CLSI's 33rd Edition of the M100 for breakpoints?
