Health Equity Considerations in Antibiotic Prescribing

The purpose of this webinar is to describe prescribing difference by age, gender, US geographic region, and race/ethnicity and how they impact outcomes. In addition, experts will discuss how antibiotic stewards can use data to drive change in the inpatient and outpatient settings.   

Target Audience

Acute care, infectious disease physicians, antimicrobial stewardship programs, adult, pediatric, pharmacist, inpatient setting, outpatient settings (maybe long term care facilities), trainees and advanced practice providers.

Learning Objectives

  1. Review health inequities as they relate to antimicrobial use and antimicrobial stewardship
  2. Examine reasons for antibiotic difference by race/ethnicity in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  3. Discuss how the infectious disease community can address these differences
  4. Describe healthcare team shared decision making skills and strategies
