Effective committees don’t just happen. They are carefully planned and constructed to have a balanced representation of members, a clearly defined mission or objective and work plan, a dedicated chair, and staffing.  SHEA is lucky to have the volunteer leaders we do and this orientation outlines the structure and work of how committees at SHEA function. Committees involve members in the development and delivery of services, represent member opinion in decision-making, and help serve member needs through interaction.
