Overview
This webinar will introduce Infection Preventionists, Healthcare Epidemiologists, frontline physicians, nurses, advanced practice clinicians, and pharmacists to foundational quality improvement (QI) and human factors engineering (HFE) principles, methodologies, and tools that enhance their ability to drive meaningful change. Participants will learn how to apply QI strategies to infection prevention initiatives and antimicrobial stewardship, leverage human factors engineering for safer processes, and collaborate effectively with QI and patient safety teams as well as other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, advanced practice clinicians and pharmacists, within their organizations.

Learning Objectives
- Introduce and explain the role of HFE and QI in healthcare and their impact on infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Identify key HFE and QI methodologies used to assess systems and design and evaluate interventions.
- Identify strategies around how to effectively collaborate with QI and safety professionals as well as other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, advanced practice clinicians and pharmacists, to translate HFE and QI concepts to improve patient care or outcomes.
